The Blasters are an original TWCL franchise who started out as the Clam Diggers (BCD) before renaming the franchise to their current name in 1974. They used the abbreviation BBS for 3 seasons before switching to BRI in 1927.

Their 1934 team was built around well rounded players who had power, on base and fielding. CF Earl Averill .310/.424/.571 and 34 HR, RF Mel Ott .306/.404/.506 and 1B Oscar Charleton .283/.359/.599 and 38 HR leading the offense the hits and walks and homers just didn't translate into the run totals it should have as they finished mid-pack.

The pitching also under-performed with innings eater Robert Evans going 5-21 and swing man Carter Clifford not pitching anywhere near his WHIP or ERA potential. Syl Johnson was a bright spot going 6-3 with a 2.32 ERA and 12 saves.

A team that should have won a lot of slug-fests just never found a rhythm. The Strat Gods did not smile on the Blasters in 1934.
